Validate at each change. On board, ask as you embark; card payment only. Mopeds and motorbikes are carried between Pellestrina and Chioggia only if the person in command allows it. All fares in euros (EUR).
The boat between Chioggia and Pellestrina is the water section of ACTV line 11, an integrated boat-and-bus route that links Chioggia with the Lido of Venice in about 70 minutes. From the Chioggia Vigo terminal it takes 25 minutes to Pellestrina Cimitero, calling at Ca' Roman on the way. At Pellestrina the line continues by bus to Santa Maria del Mare, crosses to Alberoni and continues to Lido Santa Maria Elisabetta, where waterbuses leave for central Venice.
There are around thirty sailings in each direction, through the night as well as the day, and the timetable is the same every day apart from two details. On Thursdays there is an extra boat from Chioggia at 11:20 and back from Pellestrina at 11:50. The 00:45 from Chioggia and the 01:10 from Pellestrina only run on the nights Saturday to Sunday and Sunday to Monday, and on the night after a public holiday. Between 2 November 2026 and 26 March 2027 Ca' Roman is a request stop on every boat; to get on there, call 800 845065 first.
The fare is the standard €9.50 single-network ticket, valid for 75 minutes on ACTV boats and on the Pellestrina and Lido buses, so one ticket can take you further along line 11 if you stay within the time. Validate it at each change.
Bikes and e-scooters travel for €1.50. Mopeds up to 50 cc (€3) and larger motorbikes (€6) are only taken if the person in command agrees. From 1 November the Vigo ticket office opens 07:00–14:00 and the Venezia Unica agency in Sottomarina 08:00–18:30. In the afternoon in Chioggia, buy through the AVM Venezia Official App or ask for a ticket as you board, paying by card.
- Get to the port in good time: vehicle boarding closes before departure, and some companies ask passengers to arrive earlier.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — bad weather, rough seas, strikes or works can change or cancel sailings.
- Check where and how to buy your ticket before you travel; some islands add a landing fee to the fare.
