Line 12 timetable from 22 April 2026 with winter changes from 2 November 2026 (board shown to 31 March 2027)
Torcello on request On the runs marked (A), Torcello is a request stop; to board there, book by calling 800 845065 at least 20 minutes ahead.
Connections to Treporti On runs marked (B) and (C) you change boats at Burano for Treporti or for Fondamente Nove.
Line 14 and the NLN night boat Burano is also served by line 14 (San Zaccaria – Lido – Punta Sabbioni – Burano) and at night by the NLN boat from Fondamente Nove. In winter line 14's 18:30 from Burano is suspended; the NLN boats from Fondamente Nove at 23:20 and 00:00 always call at Torcello.
Strikes, fog, high water On strike days only the guaranteed services in ACTV's notice run; in fog or tides above +95 cm the service follows the city's contingency plan.

Line 12 takes the standard ACTV single-network ticket (75 minutes from first validation, validate again at every change); it cannot be loaded on a Venezia Unica card. Bought on board, it must be requested as you embark and is card-only. Bikes and scooters pay extra unless folded in a bag within 150 cm adding the three dimensions. All fares in euros (EUR).
The waterbus most visitors use for Burano is ACTV line 12. It leaves pontoon A at Fondamente Nove and calls at Murano Faro and Mazzorbo before reaching Burano, then carries on to Treporti and Punta Sabbioni. The published timetable puts Burano roughly 40 minutes from Fondamente Nove. ACTV notes that some sailings are operated by a third-party contractor.
Boats run from very early to late: the first leaves Fondamente Nove at 04:20, the last for Burano at 22:25, and the final boat back leaves Burano at 00:10. From 2 November 2026 the winter timetable thins out the middle of the day to two boats an hour, at 10 and 40 past from Fondamente Nove and at 25 and 55 past from Burano; earlier and later times stay as in the timetable from 22 April. Three boats each way are marked 'fer' and run Monday to Saturday only. A few early and evening boats also call at Torcello, where you have to ask for the stop.
A €9.50 single lasts 75 minutes from validation, which will not cover the return once you have spent time on the island, so for a day out compare it with the €25 24-hour ticket. Bikes and e-scooters are allowed on line 12 for €1.50, as long as there is room and the skipper agrees.
From 1 November the Venezia Unica desk on Burano opens 10:10–17:00, and the Fondamente Nove office 08:00–19:00. Outside those hours use the AVM Venezia Official App, or ask for a ticket as you board and pay by card. The €1.50 fare you may see quoted is only for holders of a Venezia Unica card enabled for waterbuses, which costs €100 to activate for people living outside the Veneto region.
- Get to the port in good time: vehicle boarding closes before departure, and some companies ask passengers to arrive earlier.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — bad weather, rough seas, strikes or works can change or cancel sailings.
- Check where and how to buy your ticket before you travel; some islands add a landing fee to the fare.
